[VisMoot 2018: A Retrospective]
Another edition of the Vis Moot has passed and we rest with the conviction that 2017-2018 has been an incredible year for the UERJ Team, that left the competition with 8 awards!
Beyond qualifying to the knockout Rounds of the Vis East Moot, and each of our three mooties, Julia Figueiredo, Luiza Mattos and Marvio Bonelli, receiving honorable mentions, besides the honorable mention for the best Memoranda for Claimant, we achieved even more awards in Vienna!
We ended the oral hearings of the 25th Vis Moot among the 16 best Universities in the world, in a competition disputed by 362 contestants! We also won the award Eric E. Bergsten, for qualifying to the Round of 16, and the award Martin Domke, for the honorable mention received by our mootie Maria Vittoria Regini, one of the best speakers in the competitions.
At last, we also received the award Pieter Sanders, honorable mention for best Memorandum for Claimant. We are proud to be the Brazilian team with the biggest number of awarded Memoranda, a total of 6 until this moment!

Team UERJ: Top 32 in Vienna!
We are proud to announce that, as well as in the Vis East, we succeeded to pass the general rounds and qualified for the final rounds of the Vienna Vis Moot! We are with the 64 best Universities in the dispute that prevailed among the 362 contestants!
Later on, as if we weren't already happy enough, when disputing the Round of 64 with St. Gallen University, from Switzerland, we won and qualified for the Round of 32! Team UERJ is Top 32 in Vienna!
Tomorrow we'll face our next panel, all fingers crossed!

[Vis East 2018: Results]
This year the UERJ Team decided to give our mooties an unusual mission: to cross the globe and represent our University in the Vis East as well! The competition occurred between March 10 and 18, in Hong Kong.
And the results couldn't have been better!
In our first participation ever, the team achieved the Top 32 of best Universities! And our Memorandum for Claimant received the award David Hunter, honorable mention for one of the best Memoranda among the 130 competing teams.
Besides, each of all three of our speakers, Julia Figueiredo, Luiza Mattos and Marvio Bonelli, received the award Neil Kaplan, honorable mention given to the best speakers in the competition.
We couldn't be prouder!
We congratulate the teams from PUC-São Paulo and UNIPÊ, for the great performances when representing Brasil. Our special compliments to PUC-São Paulo, that faced us in the Round of 32 and moved forward until the Round of 8!
Now we proceed to accompany our team for the Vienna Vis Moot!

We won the White&Case LLP Pre-Moot in Paris!
The UERJ Team for the Vienna Vis Moot is already on European soil and already excelling in Paris!
We won at the Pre-Moot organized by the law firm White&Case LLP and recieved the prizes for best Memoranda for Claimant and Respondent and best speaker (Ana Carolina Villa) at the Pre-Moot organized by the law firm Norton Rose Fulbright!
We are very proud of our mooties and very excited about the next challenges to come!

Shanghai Pre Moot 2018
This year, for the first time in 8 years, the UERJ Team will be competing at the Vis East Moot, in Hong Kong - besides the participation in Vienna as well.

Another victory for the Team!
This morning the UERJ Team won the VI Rio Pre Moot! Besides the main prize, our speaker Marvio Bonelli also won an oral honorable mention!

Last weekend, our team competed in its first Pre-Moot for the 25th Vis Moot. And we had, once again, the privilege to stand in the podium among the best three Universities!

Winners of the VIII Petronio Muniz Brazilian Arbitration Competition! 🏆
One week ago we were still at the Mackenzie University, in São Paulo, celebrating the news we've been hoping for during six months! WE WERE WINNERS OF THE VIII BRAZILIAN ARBITRATION COMPETITION!
More than 50 Law Schools among the country participated in the competition, considered to be the biggest one in Latin America.

This result was only possible thanks to all the effort put in the work of our students: Anna Cintia Ximenes, Bruna Goldenstein, Daniela Amarante, Guilherme Monegalha, Ana Carolina Villa, Daniele Nissan, Gabriela Cavalheiro, Giovana Carneiro, Gustavo Azevedo, Letícia Campos, Maria Vittoria Regini, Mariana Rezende, Marvio Bonelli.
We also thank to our coaches for investing their time, knowledge and dedication in our preparation: Daniel Gruenbaum, Isabel Miranda, Bernard Potsch, Stela Hühne Porto, Mariana Campinho.
This result not only demonstrates the excellence of the public education provided by our University, but also gives us hope to overcome the difficult financial moment said institution has been through!
