Coordinators:




Carmen Tiburcio, supervisor of the team, is Professor of Private International Law and International Litigation at the Law School of the University of the State of Rio de Janeiro and at the Graduate Program at Gama Filho University. LLM (Master of Laws) and SJD (Doctor in Law) in International Law from the University of Virginia School of Law, USA. Consultant for the law firm Barroso Fontenelles, Barcellos, Mendonça & Associados.

Marilda Rosado de Sá Ribeiro, supervisor of the team, is Professor of Private International Law and International Litigation at the Law School of the University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ). Dr. iur. (1996) from the University of São Paulo (USP) in International Private Law. Professor and coordinator of curso de Direito e Negócios do Petróleo no Instituto Brasileiro de Petróleo, Gás e Biocombustíveis – IBP. Professor and Coordinator of the course Oil Law and Business at Brazilian Oil, Gas and Biofuel Institute – IBP. Professor and Coordinator of the Master’s Program in Oil and Gas Law – Faculdade de Direito Agostinho Neto – Luanda – Angola, 2007. Editor-in-Chief of Revista Brasileira de Direito do Petróleo, Gás e Energia – RBDP. She holds vast experience in Oil & Gas deals and transactions in Brazil and abroard and is today consultant for the law firm Lobo & de Rizzo Advogados.

Coaches:



Daniel Gruenbaum, since 2010 coach of the team, is Professor of Private International Law, International Litigation and Arbitration at the University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ). He holds a J.D. (2004) and Dr. iur. (2009) from the University of São Paulo (USP). Former Konrad-Zweigert-Fellow (2009) and Visiting Fellow (2013) at the Max-Planck-Institutfürausländischesund internationalesPrivatrecht, in Hamburg. Member of the Brazil Bar Association (since 2005), with extensive experience as counsel in domestic and international commercial disputes. Member of the American Society of International Law, Deutsch-BrasilianischeJuristenvereinigung, Freundedes Hamburger Max-Planck-Institutsfürausländischesund internationalesPrivatrechte.V., and Asociación Americana de Derecho Internacional Privado(ASADIP). Fluent in Portuguese, English, French and German.


Isabel Alves de Melo Miranda, coach of the team since 2010, holds a J.D.(2006), a LL.M.(2009) and Dr. iur. (2014) from the University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ), where she is currently a Post-doctoral fellow and lecturer on arbitration. Dr. Miranda is a lawyer enrolled with the Brazilian Bar Association – State of Rio de Janeiro Section (OAB/RJ) and a member of its Arbitration Committee, as well as a member of the Brazilian Arbitration Committee (CBAr). Dr. Miranda has been an associate at Batista Martins Advogados, which is a law firm specialized in arbitration (2006-2010). Dr. Miranda has participated in the internship program of the Secretariat of the International Court of Arbitration of the International Chamber of Commerce in Paris, France (2008); in the FIAA Workshop on questioning of fact witnesses in international arbitration in São Paulo, Brazil (2011); and in the LSE Summer School on International Commercial Litigation and Arbitration in London, UK (2011). Dr. Miranda has received a Scholarship to be a visiting researcher in the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Law in Hamburg, Germany (2013). Dr. Miranda is fluent in Portuguese, English and French, and has intermediate knowledge of Spanish.




Julia Fernandes de Pina Figueiredo, coach of the team since 2018, is a 5th year student at the University of the State of Rio de Janeiro's (UERJ) Law School. She represented the UERJ team at the 23rd, 24th and 25th Vis Moots and also at the 15th Vis East Moot. Currently, she works with arbitration at the law firm Schreiber Domingues Cintra Lins e Silva. She speaks Portuguese, English and German fluently.




Marvio Bonelli Pinto, coach of the team, holds a J.D. from the University of the State of Rio de Janeiro's (UERJ) Law School. He represented the UERJ team at the 23rd, 24th and 25th Vis Moots and also at the 15th Vis East Moot. Currently, he works with corporate law at the law firm Barbosa, Mussnich & Aragão. In 2014, he attended the extension course CopyrightX, offered by Harvard in partnership with the Institute of Technology and Society of Rio de Janeiro. He speaks Portuguese and English fluently, has intermediate knowledge of French and basic knowledge of Spanish.


Mooties:



Ana Flávia Magalhães Diblasi is a 2nd year student at the University of the State of Rio de Janeiro's (UERJ) Law School. She is an intern at the Court of Justice of the State of Rio de Janeiro. She speaks Portuguese and English fluently, has advanced knowledge of French and intermediate knowledge of Spanish.



Gabriel Enrique Côrte-Real Carelli is a 3rd year student at the University of the State of Rio de Janeiro’s (UERJ) Law School. Currently, he is an intern at Binenbojm & Carvalho Britto, focusing on administrative and constitutional law. He speaks Portuguese and English fluently, has advanced knowledge of French and basic knowledge of Spanish.



Gabriela Leoni is a 4th year student at the University of the State of Rio de Janeiro's (UERJ) Law School. In 2017, she was an intern at the law office BMA - Barbosa Mussnich e Aragão, focusing in civil litigation and arbitration. Currently, she is an intern at the company B&M Legal - International Trade Defense. She has participated in an exchange program in the University of Coimbra in 2016 and was a member of SDUC, the debating society of the University of Coimbra during this year. She speaks fluently Portuguese and English and has basic knowledge of Spanish.



Giovana Carneiro is a 3rd year student at the University of the State of Rio de Janeiro's (UERJ) Law School. Between April and June, 2018, she was an intern at Rolim, Mietzel, Wohlnick & Calheiros LLP (RMW&C LLP), in Germany, with focus on international private law and intellectual property. She is currently an intern at Almeida Law, focusing on public law and compliance. She has participated in exchange programs in England and Germany. She speaks portuguese, english and spanish fluently, has intermediate knowledge of german and has basic knowledge of french.



Giulia Tavares Romay de Araújo is a 5th year student at the University of the State of Rio de Janeiro's (UERJ) Law School. She was an intern at the law firms Barroso Fontelles, Barcellos, Mendonça & Associados, during 2015; and Galdino, Coelho, Mendes Advogados, in 2017, focusing on corporate law and arbitration; also at the Attorneys' General Office of the State of Rio de Janeiro, between 2017 and 2018. She was a member of the Young Arbitrators Committee of the Brazilian Center of Mediation and Arbitration (CBMA) since 2015; and has participated in exchange programs in the United States and in France, at Sciences Po Lyon. She speaks portuguese, english and french fluently and has basic knowledge of spanish, italian and german.



Juliana Adão Alves is a 5th year student at the University of the State of Rio de Janeiro's (UERJ) Law School. She was an intern at the Court of Justice of the State of Rio de Janeiro, in 2014, and at the law firm Binenbojm, Gama & Carvalho Britto, in 2015. Currently, she holds a scientific initiation scholarship on International Cooperation and Comparative Law under the orientation of Prof.ª Carmen Tibúrcio. During the school year of 2016-2017, she attended Université Paris I - Panthéon-Sorbonne as an exchange student. She speaks portuguese, english, french and spanish fluently.



Letícia dos Santos Rezende is a 4th year student at the University of the State of Rio de Janeiro's (UERJ) Law School. She was an intern at the Court of Justice of the State of Rio de Janeiro. She is a member of the Young Arbitrators Committee of the Brazilian Center of Mediation and Arbitration (CBMA), of the Constitutional Law’s Legal Observatory and of the UERJ team for the Brazilian Civil Law Olympiads (ABDC). She speaks Portuguese and English fluently and has intermediate knowledge of Spanish.



Luísa Reich Camasmie is a 3rd year student at the University of the State of Rio de Janeiro’s (UERJ) Law School. She is currently an intern at the Public Defenders Office of the State of Rio de Janeiro, focusing on the civil area. She has participated in an exchange program in Germany and concluded the Abitur exam at the German School of Rio de Janeiro. She speaks portuguese, german and english fluently, and has basic knowledge of french.




Maria Carolina Pena de Freitas Gonçalves is a 3rd year student at the University of the State of Rio de Janeiro’s (UERJ) Law School. Between 2017 and 2018, she was an intern at the Federal Attorney General's Office and is currently at the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office. She has participated in exchange programs in Germany, in 2014, and in France, in 2016. She speaks Portuguese and English fluently, has advanced knowledge of French and German, and basic knowledge of Spanish.
